About my career
Hi, I’m Dr. Luis Calderón.
I’m an orthopedic surgeon in Quito focused on the entire musculoskeletal system—spine, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, and foot. I teach at USFQ and specialize in knee surgery, arthroscopy, and joint-preservation techniques.
I have 15+ years of experience with the Knee Group at the Carlos Andrade Marín Specialty Hospital, managing complex trauma and degenerative cases. Trained at USFQ, with additional education in Europe, the U.S., and Latin America.
I’m an active member of AO Foundation (global trauma education) and ISAKOS (arthroscopy and knee surgery). I work with navigation, robotics, arthroscopy, and cartilage-sparing approaches.
My commitment is to guide you with realistic options and close follow-up—no empty promises. I work with all insurers via reimbursement and streamline the process for you.
